Hi Coco,
When most moms first find us, they're usually looking for help with their child.
They're hoping for fewer power struggles, less yelling, more cooperation, and a calmer home.
What they don't expect is how much they needed support themselves.
A while back, a mom joined our group, feeling exhausted and discouraged. Like many parents raising a child with ADHD, her life had slowly become centered around managing challenges, solving problems, and putting out fires.
She had good friends.
Friends she cared about deeply.
But somewhere along the way, she found herself seeing them less and less.
Sometimes it was because her child was struggling and she couldn't leave.
Sometimes it was because she was simply too drained.
And sometimes it was because she felt like no one really understood what life looked like behind closed doors.
One day during a group call, she shared a story about a difficult week at home.
The kind of story many parents hesitate to tell because they're afraid of being judged.
Instead of advice, criticism, or awkward silence, she found understanding.
Heads nodded.
Moms smiled knowingly.
A few even laughed and said, "Oh my goodness, we've been there too."
For perhaps the first time in a long time, she didn't have to explain herself.
She didn't have to justify her child.
She didn't have to defend her parenting.
She simply felt understood.
Later, she shared:
"I joined because I wanted help with my child. I stayed because I finally found people who understood what this journey feels like. I don't feel so alone anymore."
That simple statement has stayed with me.
As parents, we spend so much time worrying about whether our children have friends, feel accepted, and belong.
But the truth is, we need those things too.
Connection matters.
Feeling understood matters.
Having people who can celebrate your wins, sit with you through the hard days, and remind you that you're not alone matters.
If you've been feeling isolated, discouraged, or like no one quite understands your journey, please know there are other moms walking a similar path.
You don't have to do this alone.
Our Best Mom Ever coaching group will be opening to new members in August, and we'd love to welcome you.
