Dear Coco,

Is your heart feeling black ‘n blue?

Are you bruised by the daily challenges, tired, discouraged, or disappointed?

Perhaps in yourself or in your kiddos?

Is motherhood different from what you imagined?

If so, I can relate.

After enduring more than thirty grueling hours of labor, culminating in an emergency C-section, my baby entered this world black and blue, unresponsive. The long-awaited cry I anticipated never came.

The silence was deafening.

After what felt like an eternity, my son finally drew his first breath, and I heard his cry. Tears of joy and relief streamed down my face. I briefly kissed his tiny forehead before the nurses whisked him away.

Welcome to Motherhood!

Don't get me wrong; I adore being a mom. It's one of life’s greatest gifts.

It's just... I thought I would be “better” at it. Because I assumed it would be EASY.

I love them, they love me—simple as that, right? Call it "magical thinking."

I expected physical exhaustion at the end of the day, but I never anticipated the emotional toll it would take. The relentless waves of fear, pain, and loneliness left me adrift, devoid of clarity, direction, and sometimes even sanity.

My son's journey through each age and stage was fraught with struggle, fear, and isolation. There were moments when I feared I might lose him. Moments when I held my breath, praying to hear his cry of life again and again.

But not once did I entertain the idea of giving up. Not once did I cease searching for answers. Not once did I stop loving him.

If you're nodding along, feeling these struggles resonate deep within, then you understand.

Mothers are a special breed. Fierce, unyielding, and utterly devoted to their children's well-being and success. Even when we feel black and blue, downtrodden or disheartened, we never give up!

Yet, our strength can sometimes become our Achilles' heel. We may resist seeking or accepting support, feeling we must bear it all alone, believing asking for help is a sign of weakness.

But seeking support is not weakness; it's strength.

Having someone to confide in who understands our unique challenges can make all the difference. It eases our burdens, provides a safe haven to vent, and offers invaluable perspectives.

When we feel supported and understood, motherhood becomes not only manageable but also enjoyable. We can share laughter, shed tears, and celebrate victories, knowing we're not alone on this journey.

So, if you're weary of facing motherhood alone and yearn for genuine connections and understanding, we'd be delighted to welcome you into our community.
